COVID-19 Relief Print Sale

India has been devastated by a second wave of COVID-19. Most recent news from the WHO* reports that India accounts for nearly half of all global cases reported in the past 24 hours, however that is only using the official statistics released by India’s government. It is certain that the actual statistics are under-counted, but by how much, nobody can be sure. While urban areas are in a war-zone like state, rural areas face the added complications that come with distance from medical facilities, proximity to food services, and generally needing to be self-reliant.

I am working with Dhruv Matthan, a young wildlife photographer, based in Bangalore, to raise funds to bring a medical facility to the Metikuppe village located in the Kabini forest. Currently, 70% of the villagers who live in and around the forest have tested COVID positive. Funds from print sales will go towards the 5,00,000 Rs/- ($6,775) goal needed to acquire 8 hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, basic medication, the creation of an isolation facility, and blood oximeters for monitoring patients.

With an initial pledge of Rs 10,000/- (~$135), profits from print sales will go towards bringing medical aid to Metikuppe vilage.
